Kyoto and Takayama

26 °C

Kyoto

In Kyoto we joined a tour as there was too much to do in so little time. I will update all the details at a later time as im using an internet that only last 30 mins of 100 yen.

Takayama
Today we arrive at Takayama.
Takayama looks very very traditional. I love the feel of the city. We walked down the main qatar and saw a lot of school kids. We walk around the shrines and temples that run along this 4 km walkway. We only walk for about 1 hour. We ate at two restaurants (lunch and dinner) and it was some good food is we been eating convenience food for a few days.

Tommorow we held to Mishima for a day of relaxation before arriving in Tokyo!

Hiroshima, Himeji Castle and Osaka

18 °C

Day 4
Today we went to Hiroshima. After locking our luggage at the station, we went to Miyajima Island. On the island it has a shrine that has a tori gate in the middle of water. There is high tide and low tide in that place. During low tide you can walk to the tori. It was right low tide when we got there. The island also has a lot of tame deer. I was so close that i could touch it but didnot. After we went to see peace park, the atom bomb dome and the peace park mesuem. It was so cool to see the atomic bomb dome. It also made me sad to see there a weapon such as the atomic bomb, the who world should get rid of them. After we went to Hiroshima Castle but we only went on the outside and took some photos.

Day 5
Today we went to Himeji to see the castle. It was really big! It was neat to see a old old castle like that. Unfortully the main castle area was closed due to restoring the area. After that we train to Osaka. So far the only thing we did was walk around this street bazzar place. We have a half day in Osaka before heading to Nara and Kyoto.
Until next update.

Going to Japan! Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Nagasaki

17 °C

Day 1 -May 25

We leave for Japan today!!

We got on the plane and started our journey. The plane stop at Taipei for 1 hour. I got off just to check around the airport. The airport was not bad but there was nothing else to do. Then back on the plane and off to Fukuoka!

We landed at Fukuoka just after 8:30pm. We went to customs and then grab our bags and then out of the airport. We looked around and did not know where the train station was. So we went back inside and ask for some information. Apparently we need to ride the airport bus to Domestic terminal and that is where the Train station is. When we got to the train station, everything was in Japanese so....we took a look at the map and went to a ticket terminal to find a English button. So now we got the tickets and on the local train. When we got out of the station, we followed a google map that i printed out earlier in Canada and manage to find the hotel lol.

Day 2 - May 26
Today we went to Kagoshima. We went to Hakata station *Fukuoka* and took the JR train to Kagoshima station. The train was awesome! It was fast and cool. I wish Canada has a system like Japan...
When we got to Kagoshima we grab a map but did not look at it. We just pick a way to go and went off. The sights that im seeing is soo cool. I cant believe im in Japan!..........so after walking random for about 2 hours we find a shrine. We went and check it around. It was so cool, it reminded me of Anime a watch lol. And then after about 1 hour later....we are lost!!! lol.
So eventully we find where we are and got to the port when we saw the Volcano across the port.

Day 3 - May 27
Today we went to Nagasaki.
We went to the Peace park, peace statue, and the Atomic Bomb museum. It was soooo sad at the museum......
I cant believe a was standing at the spot where the bomb exploded. I also cant believe how big the atom bomb is! Its almost bigger then a car!! We also check out Chinatown where we had Chanpon which was a special noodle with octopus and a few other meats. It was good.

The weather so far is about the same as Canada but its a bit cooler. Last few days has been around 23c and low 10c.

Tomorrow we go to Hiroshima

Until next update

Going to Hue Tonight

41 °C

Well first of...ITS SOOO HOTT!!! Note to self to let clients know it is very hot during May onward...

Vietnam is such a cool place I have to say. I actully see blue skies and so many motorbikes. The power and telphone lines are crazy. Its like 50 or more wireds on the same pole line!

Well Yesterday we went to the Mekong Delta and river. We did a boat ride, Coconut candy factory and a raft ride. The coconut place was very cool and the cady tasted sweet and sticky. Our tour guild mention that there are over 4 million motorbikes and the average income is about $2000 USD a year. That explain why the Pho that we ate earlier was so cheap.

Today we went to Cu Chi tunnels. Cu Chi tunnels is an area where the people of Cu Chi opposite the occupation of USA. We saw some of the weapons and traps that they made. We also went in one of the tunnels for about 30 metres in and it was really small. You have to bind down alot and so cases even craw. It was a cool place and was exciting to see first hand at an area where the americans went and was defeted.

The near by market place had tons of stuff to buy. I only bought some stuff so far.

Now Im waiting for our ride to the airport. We will be in Hue, Vietnam tonight.

Until the next updated.
